Mountain Chickadee

This chickadee was moving around looking for insects to eat, keeping me busy following it with the  camera to get its picture. Always hard thing to do with small birds moving around so fast. Just then it got into this position, found food, which kept it there for few seconds. More then enough time for me to take its picture.

Mountain Chickadee

I'm always excited when I watch a bird manoeuvre through tight spaces at a fast pace. How such a small brain can make so many decisions to get from A to B without getting injured. Since they do make quick decisions and move so fast, it makes for a challenge to catch them in the air in tight spaces. I'll spend some time looking at them, trying to predict when they will catch air and then quickly take a picture. Always some luck is involved.

Mountain Chickadee

The plan was to go take pictures of the larches and their golden colour needles at this time of the year. But I get easily distracted by nature. Before I knew it, I was taking pictures of the mammals and the birds I was seeing among the larches. One of the picture from that hike was of the Mountain Chickadee taking flight.

Until next moment,
