Sawback Range

It was one of those day when any direction I looked, there was a beautiful view. Even with the cold temperatures, the scenery brought a bit of warmth. I did not stand around a lot that day, but every now and then stopped to take pictures, including this one of the Sawback Range.

Moon

It was a cold morning and I was waiting for the moon to just get into the position when it was just starting to go back of the Sawback Range. As I waited I was deciding how to compose the images, what to include and what not to. Then took I took the picture when the moon was in the position.

Double Rainbow

For few kilometers I was seeing part of this double rainbow as I was driving, thinking where I could stop to take its picture. I decided it was going to be at Hillsdale meadow, where others were busy taking pictures of fireweed flowers that were blooming in large amount, thanks to the prescribed burn this spring. But I was looking at the big picture, flowers on the ground, the Sawback Range in the background and double rainbow in the sky.

Open Water

One of the great joy of photography is, it makes you explore around the corner. You want to go around the corner and see if there is a better picture waiting. Sometime there isn't, but what keeps you going around the next corner again and again, is remembering all the times when there was a better picture.

Sawback Range

For most part, I take pictures, loaded them onto my computer's hard drive and look over them. Those that I don't like get deleted the others I save and back them up on another drive as well. Then there are the in between pictures, not sure what to do with them, they get saved until I look at them in the near future. Attached is one of those pictures. I took the picture just before December came to an end.

Last week I had a look at the picture and decided to start playing with it. I turned it black and white, did some cropping and brought out some details in the mountains. When I was done, I got a picture that I wanted to save.

Sawback Range

End of the day was near, decided to get of 1A and take picture of the Sawback Range. As I was setting up, a couple decided to start walking front of to take their own picture. I was happy to see they moved across to the right of and I was able to have them out of my frame. Just as right light came about and I was about to snap pictures, the couple decided to move into my frame. Luckily they were headed for their car and I had the place to myself. Able to take the pictures I wanted.
