Crowfoot Glacier

Winter is not complete without a few pictures of the Crowfoot Glacier, this year even in April the nights are like winter. My favourite season is winter. Now, no one gets upset at me. The bonus winter we're getting into the mountains is out of my control, all I can do is enjoy it. Even with lots of snow remaining in the valley, I have been out hiking as if it's spring like conditions. It was a few weeks back, I last got to see the Crowfoot Glacier, I was the only one out there as the sunlight started making contact with the mountain. I zoomed in with my camera, looking at the composition that would give me the best picture. There's something about the rock, snow and ice, it has a calm, peaceful effect, the way they work together to form nature's art.

Crowfoot Glacier

While ascending the slopes across the valley from Crowfoot Mountain, I happened to looked back toward the Crowfoot Glacier. It looked like a large painting sitting on the side of the mountain, my eyes were attracted to the  colours of the rocks, the contrast between snow and ice and the rocks. Only thing I had to do was to decide what to include and what not to in the picture I took.

Angel Glacier

I was able to make the quick hike to the small lake below the over hanging Angel Glacier on Mount Edith Cavell, before the road was closed for the winter It was my first time being there, all I can say is I want to go there many more times, The mountains, glacier, lake with iceberg and more can produce endless possibilities for photo opportunities. I spent about an hour there before the rain asked me to leave, but not before I was able to capture few images.

Bow Glacier

It was early in the morning and I was behind the Bow Lake below the Bow Glacier Fall. Took some pictures, before deciding to sit back and eat while watching the water come down. Then I scrambled and hiked my way to the Bow Glacier Lake above the fall, beautiful view with cold wind coming over the glacier and lake. It was hot day, but the cold wind was causing about foot high waves on the lake and keeping the temperature down as well.  With the lack of clouds, decided just to take close up pictures of the glacier while three Harlequin ducks kept their distance from me on the lake. Hopefully it will not be another 12 years before I get up there again, just want to be there when the water is calm and happy clouds in the sky. Today I get to share one of the close up picture of the Bow Glacier.

Until next moment,
